Patrick Herrmann US Senate 2026
VISION &
PRIORITIES
Eliminate South Carolina’s state income tax by building bipartisan consensus with members of the South Carolina General Assembly. This reform would put immediate money back into the pockets of working South Carolinians, strengthen household finances, and make South Carolina even more attractive for businesses, retirees, and job creators.
Reform the federal tax system by abolishing the IRS by replacing the current IRS-administered structure with a simplified flat tax model. Similar proposals have gained bipartisan attention in the past and aim to reduce waste, simplify compliance, and restore fairness and transparency for American taxpayers.
Fully restore and protect Second Amendment rights, including rolling back unconstitutional restrictions on lawful ownership and use of firearms . Policies will emphasize constitutional freedoms, personal responsibility, and respect for law-abiding citizens.
Repeal the Uniform Time Act of 1966 and return decision-making authority to the states.
Currently, 19 states, including SC, have already passed laws or resolutions to adopt permanent daylight saving time but are awaiting congressional action to take effect. South Carolina should have the same right to choose what best serves its residents, economy, and public health without federal delay.
Increase federal infrastructure funding for South Carolina by cutting excessive bureaucratic red tape that slows repairs to roads and bridges. While federal highway funding is essential, rural and economically constrained communities across South Carolina must also receive fair access to infrastructure dollars to support safety, commerce, and long-term growth.
Move beyond political rhetoric on illegal immigration and sanctuary policies by passing clear, enforceable federal legislation. South Carolinians understand the challenges; what’s missing is action. Real solutions require laws that are implemented and enforced—not endless debate or delay.
